Detectives are searching for an assailant responsible for a beating and slashing attack that killed a 59-year-old man Thursday morning in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
The man was found unresponsive in the 300 block of West 76th Street around 5:10 a.m. with cuts and trauma to his face, Chicago police said.
He was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
Area 2 detectives were investigating.
