A man was shot and killed after walking out of a fast food restaurant late Sunday in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.
When the 25-year-old man walked out of Southtown Sub, 112 E. 71st St., around 11:35 p.m., he spotted a gunman standing nearby, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He then heard gunshots and realized the assailant had shot him in his chest and ankle, police said.
He tried to flee but collapsed and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died, police said.
Area 1 detectives were investigating.
