President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived Tuesday in New York City for the United Nations General Assembly. During the President’s speech to the General Assembly, he addressed the term artificial intelligence (AI). Trump said, “Hereinafter officially called Super Intelligence, changing the name and that the use of the word artificial makes intelligence fake, it makes it sound fake, and it is not fake.”
Trump added, “From this point forward, all of the United States documents and hopefully the world’s will be changed, to use the much more accurate term, Super Intelligence, as opposed to artificial, so it’s Super Intelligence. In other words, welcome to the world of Super Intelligence dash SI Let’s see if that goes. It sounds much better. It is much better, and it’s much more accurate. Let’s see if I have any power. Maybe I do and maybe I don’t. We’re gonna find out pretty soon.”

Later that afternoon, the First Lady delivered her own speech on artificial intelligence, repeatedly calling the technology AI rather than “super intelligence.”
“We are living in an extraordinary moment in human history,” she said. “We stand together at the threshold of a technological revolution. Ideas once confined to science fiction novels and films have become part of our everyday reality. What once seemed impossible is becoming ordinary.”

The First Lady continued, delivering a text that neglected to incorporate the President’s proposed name change for AI: “Today, we converse with AI, video call our families from any place on the planet, hold an entire computer in the palm of our hand, use self-driving cars, enter virtual worlds, and use biometric ID to access our bank accounts, airport terminals, and homes.”
Again, referencing AI, she said: “Artificial intelligence is transforming entire business sector [sic] and expanding how humanity accesses the largest corpus of information ever available to humanity.”
The First Lady’s continued use of AI didn’t go unnoticed in the comments, where one commenter wrote: “She didn’t get the memo. It’s now called SI, not AI.” Another wrote: “Melania’s speechwriters won’t even call it ‘S.I.’. Too funny.”
