Mike Johnson Ripped for Uber Eats Video, “Incredibly Out of Touch”

Rep. Mike Johnson

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is being criticized for producing the video below, featuring Uber Eats driver Bob Mitchell, to promote President Trump’s “Working Families Tax Cuts.”

According to Johnson, Mitchell “told me that even his accountant was shocked by how much more money he is keeping thanks to No Tax on Tips.”

Johnson didn’t forget to remind his followers that “every single Democrat voted against allowing Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money.”

More than one critic of the Trump administration implied that most Uber Eats drivers don’t make enough money to hire an accountant.

Political influencers, including Jared Ryan Sears, replied: “Yes, people who drive for Uber Eats for a living typically have accountants… You do realize that Americans see and feel how much they are struggling, how much they’re falling behind with the costs of gas, groceries, healthcare, and housing? You can’t spin that away. You only make yourself look either incredibly out of touch or terribly callous.”

Other critics are questioning Johnson’s ability to “read the room” after President Trump, early on Tuesday, threatened Iran by writing, “A whole civilization will die tonight,” if the country doesn’t open the Strait of Hormuz, the closure of which is affecting the costs of food and gas — impacts not mentioned by the Uber Eats driver in Johnson’s video.
