A tire ‘issue’ erupted as an American Airlines flight from Barcelona landed at O’Hare International Airport Tuesday, injuring one person.
The accident happened as AA Flight 41 — carrying 234 passengers and 11 crew members — landed, according to a statement from the airlines. First responders assisted and passengers were safely transported to the terminal by a bus.
One person was taken to a hospital, according to a spokesperson for the Chicago Fire Department. It was unclear if the injured person, who was taken to a hospital in good condition, was a crew member or passenger.
The aircraft was taken out of service for inspection by the airline’s maintenance team.
“We thank our team members for their professionalism and we apologize to our customers for their experience,” the airline said.
