A man was killed Sunday night after being struck by an SUV in Gage Park, Chicago police said.
The gray SUV had been southbound in the 5100 block of South Western Avenue at a high rate of speed when it struck an adult man around 10:47 p.m., police said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was 63 years old, according to Cook County medical examiner’s office.
After striking the pedestrian, the SUV lost control and crashed, police said. The driver was not injured.
The Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating. No further information was available Monday morning, police said.
