Chicago police are investigating the death of a 1-year-old girl who was found wounded and unresponsive in West Ridge on Saturday morning, police said.
The unidentified child was found with visible injuries to her lower body at about 11:40 a.m. along the 2600 block of West Rosemont Avenue, according to police.
She was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in critical condition, where she died, police said.
Area 3 detectives are investigating the death, police said. An official cause of death has not been determined.
