Illinois State Police were investigating after someone was injured early Monday in a shooting on Interstate 57 in the south suburbs.
State troopers responded in the northbound lanes of I-57 near 127th Street around 12:30 a.m. for the shooting, state police said.
Officials said a person was taken to an area hospital with injuries, though it wasn’t immediately clear if they were shot.
All northbound lanes were shut down for several hours and reopened around 5:25 a.m., state police said.
