Six Flags Magic Mountain closes 4 attractions during busy summer season
Six Flags Magic Mountain has temporarily closed four attractions for seasonal refurbishments and inspections during the busy summer season as the Valencia amusement park prepares for the start of Fright Fest 2026.
X2, Twisted Colossus, Scream and Looney Tunes Lodge are temporarily closed as part of the standard refurbishment schedule at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

The 2003 Scream floorless coaster in the Screampunk District is closed for a month-long refurbishment through Sept. 11.
The 2015 Twisted Colossus coaster in the Screampunk District is closed through Sept. 4 for a three-week refurbishment. Rocky Mountain Construction converted the 1978 Colossus wooden coaster into a hybrid mobius coaster.

Looney Tunes Lodge is being converted into Camp Duck Amuck Fun Fort as part of the transformation of Bugs Bunny World into Looney Tunes Land. The indoor playground will be turned into a mountain cabin with new wood grain foam flooring. Work is expected to continue through Sept. 18.
The 2002 X2 fourth dimension coaster in the Baja Ridge area of Magic Mountain remains closed with no reopening date listed on the park’s scheduled ride closures website.

Magic Mountain closed X2 on July 12 following an incident under investigation by state safety officials, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Six Flags Fright Fest will return to Magic Mountain on select nights from Sept. 18 through Nov. 1.
