A wildfire that broke out after a semi-truck fire sparked nearby brush along the 5 freeway in Castaic prompted evacuation warnings Monday, July 6.
The Martin fire had grown to 19 acres after it was reported just after 4 p.m. on the 5 freeway just north of Templin Highway, according to Los Angeles County fire officials.
An evacuation warning was issued for the area of Paradise Ranch, starting at the 5 p.m., between Templin Highway and the Pyramid Lake area.
No injuries had been reported. Fire officials didn’t immediately know how many structures were threatened in the area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
