Toyboy, 31, who pocketed £250k when OAP vicar lover, 81, died forced back to work after splashing the cash

A TOYBOY who inherited £250,000 after his 81-year-old ex-vicar husband died has been “forced” back into work.

Florin Marin, 31, vowed to never marry again after the death of soul mate Philip Clements – though has since become engaged to wealthy hotelier Giovanni Messina, 53.

His new beau has been Florin’s “rock” through a recent health ordeal, but now wants to show him the value of hard work.

Romanian male model Florin – who previously splashed out on a new home and car with money from selling a flat Philip left him – told The Sun Giovanni is keen to “put me to work”.

He added: “He tells me you have to learn and see how you make money. It’s not easy to make money.

“From all the boyfriends I’ve had in the past I’ve learned something about life, about surviving.”

The couple last week opened a new Italian eatery inside Giovanni’s hotel in Baden, Germany.

Florin said he has been working so hard he hurt his back and at one stage had to call out paramedics as he couldn’t get out of bed.

“It’s very stressful,” he admitted, having previously enjoyed being lavished with gifts by former lovers.

“Now I know how stressful it is to have a business and how stressful it is when staff can’t come to work due to sickness.

“Sometimes I’m working in the kitchen in the restaurant and sometimes I’m very curious about how they make the beds.

“I learn something new all the time. I learn not to stress. I understand now how hard it is to change a room. I like to learn.

“I do all I can to help the employer. I don’t stay home.”

It comes after Florin had a health scare earlier this month, when he was told he may have prostate cancer.

“Every month I have blood and urine tests to see how my body is,” he explained.

“The doctor said something appeared on the tests of the urine, something with the prostate. He said ‘I suspect you have cancer’.

“I said ‘really, so easy? Why do you come to that?’ He said ‘the tests look like you have some cancer.’”

Florin said he was also taken aback when the doctor then told him he was more convinced it was cancer due to his sexuality.

“Gay people mostly get this cancer, prostate cancer,” he said the doctor told him.

Florin said: “So that means that all the gay people in this world get prostate cancer because they’re gay? It was ridiculous.”

After further tests, it was revealed the issue was actually just some inflammation and was not cancerous.

A specialist told him: “At 31 years old to have cancer is unlikely. It can be one guy in a million but you’re not the unlucky one.”

Florin said the specialist added that his sexuality would not increase the likelihood of cancer.

Florin Marin’s love life

Florin married ex-vicar Philip Clements – who he met on Grindr – in 2017 and they moved to his native Romania.

However, tragedy struck when Philip died aged 81 in May 2020, with Florin saying he grieved for two days as his soul mate would want him to move on with his life.

He barred Philip’s family from the cremation after they labelled him a “gold digger” and a “leech”, having inherited £250,000.

Florin went on to become engaged to Jeronimo Jesus de Vega before they split in 2022.

He then met wealthy hotelier Giovanni Messina on dating app Planet Romeo.

The couple are engaged, as of January, and live in Baden, Germany.

He plans to travel back to Romania in May to visit the lake where he spread Philip’s ashes for the anniversary of his death.

He added: “I won’t marry again, I’m just engaged and that’s all. I won’t get married again in my life because I promised Philip that before he died.”

Philip died just three years after his marriage to Florin, leaving his hubby the beneficiary of his £2,000 a month pension, £150,000 life insurance policy and £100,000 worth or property.

The Sun revealed in 2021 that Florin had shacked up with Spanish businessman Jeronimo Jesus de Vega, 51.

The pair had previously got together after Florin split from parish priest Philip in 2017, before they reconciled and married.

But they have since separated, with Florin and Giovanni meeting nearly two years ago on gay dating app Planet Romeo.
