Police were called to the complex about 2:45 p.m. after reports that a person was down inside a unit, city of Fremont spokesperson Amy Gee said in a statement. Gee did not say immediately where the apartment was located.

Gee said that once officers got to the apartment, they found two people dead inside. She had no information on either of them.

Authorities did not say whether they suspect foul play.

Police and the Alameda County Coroner’s Office are investigating. Gee said police were awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the causes of death for both people.
