Universal Studios Hollywood plans to roll out the red carpet for two new tentpole movies coming soon to theaters while also celebrating three blockbuster franchises with a Mega Movie festival this summer.
Universal Mega Movie Summer will kick off on Saturday, June 13 and run daily through Aug. 9 at the Hollywood theme park.

Mega Movie Summer brings together five films under one big beach umbrella — the new “Minions & Monsters” and “The Odyssey” coming to theaters in July and the Jaws, Fast & Furious and Wicked franchises.

Super Silly Fun Land will host a Minion Dance Party with Minions characters Henry and James in celebration of “Minions & Monsters,” coming to theaters on July 1.
“Minions & Monsters” travels back to 1920s Hollywood where the Minions crash a film set, become movie stars and live a lavish celebrity lifestyle with mansions, parties and adoring fans.

The Studio Tour will feature an original ship from “The Odyssey” along with film footage and filmmaker interviews on the tram monitors.
The 34-foot-tall Trojan Horse used in the film will spend the summer parked in front of the AMC Theatres in Universal CityWalk.
Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic poem about the mythic Greek hero Odysseus opens in theatres on July 17. The film stars Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Zendaya.

Authentic picture cars from the Fast & Furious franchise will be parked in Universal Plaza to promote the launch of the park’s new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster this summer.
The “Street Racers” hip-hop dance show will perform in Universal Plaza throughout Mega Movie Summer.

Elphaba and Glinda meet-and-greet characters will pose for photos at a Wicked backdrop near the DreamWorks Theatre.

Two theme park restaurants will get Mega Movie overlays this summer.
Hollywood & Dine will transform into the Fast & Furious-themed Drift & Dine with a limited-time menu serving L.A. Drift Dogs and Quarter Mile Funnel Cakes.

Mel’s Diner will once again feature a Jaws-themed menu this summer with returning favorites like the Shark Bait Burger and Amity Island Funnel Cake.
Minions Cafe will add a few new menu items themed to “Minions & Monsters” including Howard’s Berry Lemonade Cupcake and James’ Carbonara Pasta.

CityWalk restaurants will also join the Mega Movie celebration with food and drink items themed to Fast & Furious (Antojitos Cocina Mexicana and NBC Sports Grill & Brew), Minions (Voodoo Doughnut) and Jaws (Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville).
Mega Movie Summer also marks the return of the Buy A Day, Get A Day ticket offer at Universal Studios Hollywood. Both visits must be completed by Dec. 16. The first paid visit has no blockout dates. The free return visit has 14 blockout days on select dates in July, September, October and November.
