Wyle reminisced about his long ties to Hollywood, including growing up in the area, watching movies in local theaters, meeting his wife and dreaming of some day being enshrined on the Walk of Fame.
“I have history up and down the street like nowhere else on Earth, and today, becoming part of that history is a true childhood dream come true,” Wyle said. “As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be part of it, to be initiated into the club and company of show folk — those crazy, diverse individuals, that tribe of oddballs and eccentrics, dreamers and gamblers who make up this business.
“I love it more than I can say. It is all I’ve ever wanted to do in the only place I’ve ever wanted to be. It has been the joy of my life, playing for you, being welcomed into your homes, becoming part of your history and your evolution. I am truly humbled by this honor, gratified and inspired beyond words by this ceremony, and I will cherish the memory of this moment forever.”

Jonathan Frakes and Steven Weber were among those joining Wyle at the ceremony at 6164 Hollywood Blvd. in front of the El Centro Apartments and Bungalows, near Arygle Avenue.
Frakes directed the TNT made-for-television movies “The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines” and “The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice” which Wyle starred in.
Frakes also directed Wyle in three episodes of the 2011-15 TNT post-apocalyptic science fiction series “Falling Skies”; and two episodes of the Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video action crime drama “Leverage: Redemption.”

Weber and Wyle appeared together in three episodes of “Falling Skies” and an episode of the TNT series of “The Librarians,” which counted Wyle as one of its executive producers.
The star is the 2,840th since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961 with the initial 1,558 stars.
Born June 4, 1971, at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Hollywood, Wyle graduated from The Thacher School in Ojai in 1989, then began his career by appearing in Los Angeles stage productions. His first credited television role came in the 1990 NBC miniseries “Blind Faith.” His first credited movie role came a year later in the family drama “Crooked Hearts.”
Wyle had what screenwriter Aaron Sorkin described as “a small, featured role as an endearingly dimwitted Marine corporal,” in the 1992 courtroom drama, “A Few Good Men.”

Wyle was the youngest cast member of “ER” when it premiered in 1994. He received outstanding supporting actor in a drama series Emmy nominations in each of its first five seasons.
Wyle remained with the series through its 11th season and was the last of the original cast members to leave. He also appeared in four episodes in the middle of the 12th season and five episodes in its 15th and final season. The 254 episodes he appeared in were the most by any actor.
Wyle won his first Emmys in September as outstanding lead actor in a drama series for “The Pitt,” along with a producing Emmy as “The Pitt” won for outstanding drama series.

Wyle’s other movie credits include “W,” “Swing Kids” and “Donnie Darko.”
