Charges are pending for a man who allegedly shot a woman — critically hurting her — late Wednesday in the Kenwood neighborhood.
The 46-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were inside a home at about 11:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of South Ellis Avenue when an argument they were embroiled in escalated, Chicago police said.
That’s when the man pulled a gun and shot the woman, striking her in the face.
The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
The man fled to another location, where officers took him into custody and recovered a gun.
Charges are pending for the suspect in the attack, which police said appeared domestic-related.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
