A CTA Skokie Swift train derailed Thursday evening, cutting off service to the Yellow and Purple lines and also affecting the far north portions of Red Line service, according to the CTA.

The trains derailed near the Howard station around 5:40 p.m., suspending two lines as well as the Red Line between Howard and Thorndale, according to a CTA representative, who said no injuries were reported.

Shuttle buses were running between the closed Red Line stations until 8:40 p.m. as normal service was restored through the evening.
