How to watch all Carabao Cup second round games on TV and live stream

After the Premier League returned with a bang this weekend, it’s time for even more football action this week with the Carabao Cup second round.

It being the second round means that the bigger Premier League clubs are now entering the fray and starting their potential road to silverware.

This round will see 11 sides from the Prem join the competition – the 11 without European football this season – which includes the likes of Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.

Reigning champions Manchester City and the nine European qualifiers – Arsenal,Manchester United, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Brighton, Sunderland and Crystal Palace – will all enter later in the third round, joining the victors of this week’s action.

So without further ado, here’s how you can catch all the games on TV and live streams this week – and when the third round draw will take place.

How to watch the Carabao Cup on TV

Action from the Carabao Cup will be on for the next three evenings, Tuesday, August 25, Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 28.

Tonight’s games will feature teams from across several levels of English football, with the clash between two Premier League sides – Nottingham Forest vs Leeds – being the standout.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday will see one match aired on Sky Sports Football and Main Event, with the rest of the games available to watch on Sky Sports+

Sky Sports+ is completely free for all subscribers and can be found on channel 404.

Nottingham Forest’s clash with Leeds on Tuesday will also be shown on free-to-air TV via ITV 1.

Leeds managed to defeat Forest 1-0 in their opening game of the Premier League this weekend, so Forest will be looking for some quick revenge.

Wednesday will see three Premier League sides make their tournament debut, as Newcastle face West Brom, Tottenham host Charlton and Everton travel to Preston North End, which will be on Sky Sports Main Event.

The second round fixtures will come to an end on Thursday, as Chelsea face Luton Town and Fulham host AFC Wimbledon.

Is extra-time in use in the Carabao Cup?

Second-round matches in the Carabao Cup will not go to extra-time, with games heading straight to penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes.

When is the Carabao Cup third round draw?

The draw will be held in the evening of Wednesday, August 26, following the Preston v Everton match.

The draw is expected to take place around 10.30pm, and will be broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football.

The first set of round three games will then begin the week commencing September 7.

The final itself will take place at Wembley on March 21, 2027.
