Litter and Gerwen have faced each other eight times so far, with each man winning four matches.

And both will be hoping to go on and win the tournament after Littler stormed to success in Liverpool.

The 17-year-old tops the table on 31 points, with Van Gerwen on 24 after crashing out in the Liverpool semis to Rob Cross.

But the Dutchman has now taken his rivalry with Littler up a notch by referring to him as “Kebab Boy.”

Van Gerwen revealed he has given the teen the nickname due to his love for the meaty treat.

Littler regularly toasts his success with kebabs and other takeaways.

And Van Gerwen prefers calling him “Kebab Boy” instead of his usual moniker “The Nuke.”

Van Gerwen explained: “We are always egging each other on and that’s what I always call him.

“(My nickname?) I don’t know but he doesn’t say it yet I think. I’m twice that boy’s age, right?

“We just have a good relationship, but real conversations we haven’t had.

Inside Littler’s massive rise

LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship.

The Nuke reached the final on his Ally Pally debut at just 16 years of age – smashing records along the way.

He has since joined Jude Bellingham on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.

He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.

And he’s even the face of a brand new cereal.

“I sometimes ask him something, it’s always darts-related. So should I start talking politics with a 17-year-old guy?

“If you ask him about Man United, he knows everything. That’s a generation gap.”

As for Littler, he revelled in last night’s final win over Cross that saw him book his place in the upcoming semis.

Littler beamed: “I knew what was coming this week and I was building up to it.

“I always engage with the crowd and the semi-final I was playing with complete freedom.

“I just felt comfortable tonight. I knew what was coming and I was glad to win.

“It’s been looking tight [for the play-off places] the last few weeks but I’m glad to win and be clear of it.

“I’m happy to push myself away from the other people but I know it’s going to be tight for the other bunch.”
