The Kansas City Chiefs have dipped into the free agent pool yet again.
According to a report from NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Chiefs are signing cornerback Kaiir Elam.
Elam is the second cornerback Kansas City has acquired during free agency after signing Kader Kohou last month. It was one of its biggest positions of need after trading Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams and letting Jaylen Watson walk.
What Are Kansas City Chiefs Getting in CB Kaiir Elam?
Elam was a first-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2022. In a funny twist, the Bills only took Elam because the Chiefs traded up over them to select McDuffie, who Buffalo was hoping to land. Elam was considered one of the best cornerbacks in that draft class, but his collegiate success never fully translated to the NFL. The Bills traded Elam to the Dallas Cowboys last offseason.
More to come. . .
