Goldie Hawn Is Ready For A Hollywood Return If the Right Role Comes Along

It’s been six years since Goldie Hawn appeared on the screens in a new movie, but the legendary actress is ready to return.

Her last project was 2020’s The Christmas Chronicles 2, where she portrayed Mrs. Claus opposite her longtime partner Kurt Russell. However, she’s always been open to taking on another role, yet what she’s been offered hasn’t been the right fit.

“It’s about the content,” Hawn told PEOPLE in an interview published April 29. “It has to do with the content. Acting for acting’s sake, taking things… I’ve read a lot of shows, a lot of scripts that I didn’t like or I didn’t think I’d fit.”

“The one thing about acting is that I’ve done it, and I had a great career, and I honor that,” she added. “I would love to get a material that could actually be like, ‘Oh my God, I want this so bad. This is so funny. She’s so crazy. She’s so interesting.’ But I haven’t come across it.”

So, what exactly is she looking for?

“If somebody came up with a really cool, funny script . . . I think it would be great,” she said.

Kate Hudson Hints At Potential Collaboration With Mom Goldie Hawn

Kate Hudson, the daughter of Hawn and Russell, hinted that she might have something up her sleeve regarding a project involving her and her mother during an April 23 interview on “Live with Kelly & Mark.”

The conversation began when host Kelly Ripa asked Hudson if this was a possibility.

“We all want to see you and your mom, Goldie Hawn, together on-screen,” Ripa stated. “Will that happen in my lifetime?”

“I would love it to,” Hudson replied. “Every time I see Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell together I’m like, ‘that is just not fair.’ Why do you guys get to do this?”

“I would love to work with my mom,” she added. “It would just have to be so right. We would both want it to be very meaningful. Whatever that is or whenever that time comes, I hope so.”

From there, Ripa asked the actress if she ever thought of writing the script for the potential project.

“Yes. I have thought about it,” Hudson explained. “My mom hasn’t worked in a long time. She does a lot with kids and she’s really happy in her life. But I think about it all the time.”

In another interview the actress did with PEOPLE that was published on April 28, the outlet detailed the immense joy and happiness that radiated off Hawn.

“I laugh all the time. . . . It’s kind of a joy for life,” Hawn said. “I have a tickle inside. I have it. I’ve always had it. It’s a gift.”

And with that, she added that her “life’s mission is to be happy.”

My life’s mission is to be be an example for my children and my family,” she added.

Hawn and Russell have four children: actors Oliver Hudson, Kate Hudson, and Wyatt Russell, as well as psychotherapist Boston Russell. They also have numerous grandchildren with Hawn stating that, “Wherever they are, I’m happy.”
