Kelly Osbourne: ‘Being judged for how I grieved after losing weight made it harder’

Kelly Osbourne has opened up about how difficult the public response to her grief journey impacted her, just days after speaking about dealing with her weight loss.
The reality star is attending the National Television Awards on Tuesday night, where the BBC documentary Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home is up for nomination.
It is an intimate portrait of her late father’s final years of life, his marriage to his wife Sharon and an inside look into the Black Sabbath legend’s inner world.
The 41-year-old admitted to Metro on the red carpet that she had ‘never seen’ the documentary because it was ‘too painful’.
She said: ‘I’ll be honest. I’ve never watched it. I can’t watch it; it’s too painful,’ she shared, adding that it’s a ‘devastating story but also a really, really beautiful one.’
The star has been open about her journey with grief since the rock legend’s death in July 2025, with her weight loss becoming a particular subject of concern for the public.

She recently opened up about how she wore a wig at the Grammy Awards in January to cover up her cheekbones, after noting that she hadn’t realised how much weight she had lost and that she ‘wasn’t very well’.
In the end, her friends and family raised the alarm to her about her health, and she told us what their support meant to her and how she navigated the red carpet tonight.
‘It’s hard to grieve anything, anyone. I would never wish that upon anybody. But then to have to do it in front of the world and then get judged for the way you do it is even harder.
‘I’m grateful there are beautiful people in this world that showed me so much kindness and love and support and I really couldn’t have got through it without it.’
As for who she brought to support her on the red carpet at the NTAs, she pointed to her ‘sexy date’, Emmerdale star Bradley Riches, who connected with the star after he spent time with mum Sharon in the Big Brother house.

‘My mum always gets mad… because we ended up becoming besties
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday earlier this month, she opened up more about her time appearing at the Grammys.
‘I looked like the f*****g Crypt Keeper. I said, “This is scary. I didn’t know I looked like this.’
‘I wore a wig to cover my face, so you couldn’t see how skinny my cheekbones really were,’ she added.
Meanwhile, with rumours of an X Factor reboot swirling, when asked if mum Sharon could find herself back in the judging seat, she replied with a firm ‘no’ – so that’s that on that!
