She paid $24.5 million for the property back in 2017, a record-setting sale for the neighborhood at the time.</p>

<p id=”par-5_45″>After the sale went through, a local real estate source and then <em>Robb Report</em> identified the “Like a Prayer” singer as the buyer. If true, it would have been a great Hollywood story, with one Hollywood icon handing the historic home over to another icon.</p>

<p id=”par-6_62″>On Thursday, Oct. 8, Ernie Carswell, who co-listed the property, appeared on<a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9geWI7JzAX0&pp=ygUQcmVhbCB0YWxrIGVybmllIA%3D%3D”> The Society Group’s <em>Real Talk</em> </a>and denied that Madonna was the buyer. He declined to name who did buy it, saying the buyer’s identity is protected by a nondisclosure agreement. Still, he insisted that Madonna is not the owner, though he did not deny her reported interest in the property.</p>

He noted that background checks were run on everyone interested in seeing the home. The extra security step was likely partly due to Jolie’s celebrity as well as the home’s history.</p>

Cooper Corbett and built in 1913 in Laughlin Park, a gated enclave in Los Feliz. Its most famous resident was legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, the director behind <em>The Ten Commandments</em>, who bought the home in 1916 and lived there for decades.
