WWE superstar Kit Wilson has admitted a WrestleMania 42 match with Jelly Roll was a real possibility.
The 31-year-old British wrestler, who rose the ranks as Pretty Deadly with fellow Londoner Elton Prince, has gone solo in recent months after his tag partner was ruled out of action due to a serious neck injury.
After a character change, where he calls out ‘toxic masculinity’ in wrestling, Kit found himself in a brief storyline with Grammy Award-winning singer Jelly Roll, which saw them face off on SmackDown earlier this year.
Speaking to Metro in Las Vegas during WrestleMania week, he exclusively told us how there was a point where the rivalry could have culminated on the grandest stage.
‘I mean, there was always a chance that it could have spilt over to WrestleMania. I think, obviously, right now he’s quite busy with Cody [Rhodes] and Randy [Orton]. I love that Randy RKO’d him, thanks Randy,’ he quipped, referencing his involvement in the night one main event last weekend.

Fans will get to play out the match themselves when Jelly Roll joins the WWE 2K26 roster in July as part of the season 4 Ringside Pass premium track, which will also include legends Matt and Jeff Hardy, and AAA wrestler Lady Shani.
But Kit has suggested there is ‘unfinished business’ away from the video game world.
‘I do think there’s unfinished business there. You know, this Jelly Roll guy, I didn’t realise how big of a superstar he was,’ the wrestler admitted.
‘Maybe I didn’t realise how good he was in the ring. I gave him my time. He gave me his time. I think we’ve got some more time, I do, absolutely, but down the line.’
Jelly has history in wrestling, having teamed with Randy Orton against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul at SummerSlam last year, before returning to the ring to face Kit on March 27.

I don’t mind either way
With a little while to go before the country singer makes his WWE video game debut, Kit had a message for Jelly, who will be rated 80 – six points higher than his wrestling rival.
‘You’re toxic, Jelly,’ he teased. ‘You’re toxic.’
Celebrity involvement is nothing new in WWE or WrestleMania specifically, and this year Lin-Manuel Miranda – a huge fan of the art form – appeared in the cold open for the show at Allegiant Stadium.
Kit and Elton have history with the Hamilton creator, and even seemingly handed him a script for their own musical during an episode of SmackDown in late 2024.
‘It was massive for me. And I’m a big Lin fan. I really am. Me and my wife have seen Hamilton probably six times. Love it! Love all the other stuff he’s done, even his songs in Moana,’ he raved.
‘Fantastic, incredible, great – great Curb Your Enthusiasm episode from Lin. A big fan, so to hand in the script, for him to take a look at the script, him to give us notes, it’s been a blessing.’
Fans are yet to actually see anything from the supposed musical, with Pretty Deadly often promising a performance, only to find an excuse to back out at the last minute, but Kit insists it was getting there before Elton’s devastating real-life injury.
‘Look, Pretty Deadly: The Musical was working behind the scenes. We were going, we were ready, it was coming to fruition. Elton, unfortunately, as we all know, is kind of suffering a little setback for the moment,’ he explained.
‘So we are on an indefinite hiatus for now – for now. This man’s gotta get healthy first, then he can start working on his vocal cords. He had neck surgery, that’s gonna damage the vocals. So, we got some time.’
Kit joked that ‘Lin has been very kind’ by taking ‘a back seat’ in the meantime.
He added: ‘He’s doing other things, he’s got big projects, so we’ll let him get on with that, and eventually, eventually we’ll get there.’
When it comes to Elton’s recovery, his tag partner is staying tight-lipped for the time being.
‘I’ve got no update for you. He is healing. Things are going well. It’s just a long process, it really is,’ he said. ‘If you’re looking percentage-wise or time-wise, he’s still so early in that process.
‘He’s just kind of getting through it. He’s dealing with it. He’s doing good, he’s keeping positive, but it’s just long.’
WWE 2K26 is out now. Netflix UK & Ireland subscribers can watch Raw, SmackDown, NXT and all WWE Premium Live events as part of their subscription. Tickets for the WWE European Summer Tour are available now from wwe.com/events.
