A Football Manager 2024 fan saw Ange Postecoglou’s quote wanting more of Cristian Romero in his team, and showed why that’s a very bad idea.

Football Manager 2024 saw the welcome introduction of a host of new features and gameplay improvements, such as a more authentic transfer market and better tactics with positional play.

Thanks to Football Manager’s in-game editor, however, fans can play god and do just about anything in the game, which has spurred some hilarious experiments, such as when a fan gave everyone the manflu.

Another great experiment, inspired by Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou’s quote after their loss to Arsenal this weekend – where he suggested he wanted a whole team with the same attitude as Cristian Romero – has seen one fan use the in-game editor to make every Tottenham player a version of Romero, and it doesn’t disappoint.

‘I have got to get what is in him into some of the others,’ Postecoglou said about Romero after the game, which prompted a fan to copy Romero’s mental and personal attributes (but not technical attributes) for all the other Tottenham players.

Romero doesn’t shy away from physical confrontation, and is known to put in some crunching tackles, and it shows in the game where his stat for aggression is 18 out of 20.

The very first game in the Premier League set the standard for the rest of the season, as his team full of Romeros got two red cards and two penalty kicks against them.

In the end, the ill-disciplined team racked up 21 red and 152 yellow cards in the league, which is quite the feat when comparing it to the second worst team on the list, the Manchester United players, who saw four red and 73 yellow cards.

Compared to real life, 21 red cards in one season is absolutely ridiculous, as the most red cards any club has received in one season since the Premier League began in 1992 is nine.

To make things worse Twitter user Kieran’s Tottenham full of Romeros lost both games against rivals Arsenal and finished eighth in the league, so according to Football Manager 2024 Postecoglou really don’t want 11 Romero on the pitch at all times.
