Lenny Kravitz was not aboard a private jet that crashed and killed nine people, he has confirmed.

On Sunday, a Learjet 60 flying from Texas to the Bahamas declared a rapidly worsening emergency following icing, turbulence, and a sharp loss of altitude.

Distressing audio of the final cockpit call heard the pilot screaming, ‘We’re going to die,’ as the jet nosedived into a residential area near Greenacres in Florida’s Palm Beach County.

All nine people on board died as the aircraft created a huge crater in the pavement before erupting into flames.

Originally, it was reported that American musician Kravitz, 62, was one of the passengers on the $2million vessel.

Now, his representative has told Metro: ‘The reports of him being on the plane are not true and incorrect.’

It was believed Kravitz could’ve been on board as a female pilot, later wrongly identified as the one flying the plane that crashed, posted about taking the rocker on a similar route earlier on.

Florida-based pilot Emily Shelton wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post: ‘Honored to be flying the one and only Lenny Kravitz from [Austin-Bergstrom International Airport] to [North Eleuthera Airport, Bahamas] tomorrow. Looking forward to having him on board.

‘”It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over” is gonna be playing in the cockpit 💃 🎶’

Having come across the post on social media, fans wrongly assumed both Kravitz and Shelton were victims.

The 21-year-old pilot also issued her own statement, sharing on TikTok: ‘I was recently made aware that there are rumors that I was the pilot of the recent crash in Palm Beach.

‘I would like to respectfully clarify I was not. I ask that people please stop speculating and spreading misinformation on this tragedy and be respectful of those involved.

‘My heart goes out to all those lost and affected.’

A co-pilot of the plane that plummeted more than 25,000ft in under a minute has since been identified as 20-year-old Nathalia Gadelha, who earned her private pilot’s licence at just 17.

Gadelha started flying lessons in 2020, learning from her father, and she went on to graduate from American Flyers flight school.

Her grieving mother, Camila, confirmed to the New York Post that her daughter was co-piloting the twin-engine aircraft when it took off from Austin.

Gadelha was the one heard on the panicked mayday call, saying in her final moments: ‘We are in an overspeed condition, descending 20,000ft per minute.’

In the chilling seconds before the audio cut off, she said: ‘We’re out of time.’

Gadelha’s male co-pilot has not yet been identified, nor have the other passengers. He was reportedly heard reciting the Lord’s Prayer during the crisis call.

A man’s voice said, ‘Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name…’ while Gadelha cried, ‘We’re going to crash into the ground.’

The plane took a sharp turn, terrifying flight data captured, and then plunged from 8,000ft, with a fireball bursting out at the scene near a mobile home park, which was evacuated.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called the incident ‘cataclysmic’, describing it as ‘like a missile going down’.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash.
