British-Argentine-American actress and model Anya Taylor-Joy turns 30 today. The star was born on April 16, 1996, in Miami, Florida.

Taylor-Joy began acting in 2014, one year after she was first scouted as a model. She had signed with modelling agency Storm Management in 2013 on the condition that acting would remain her first passion and pursuit.

Movie-wise, in 2015, she landed arguably her most iconic big screen role in folk horror film “The Witch.” In 2016, she appeared in sci-fi horror “Morgan,” biographical drama “Barry,” and psychological thriller “Split.” 2017 saw her star in psychological horror “Marrowbone” and black comedy thriller “Thoroughbreds.” Finally, in 2019, she appeared in the superhero thriller “Glass,” documentary film “Love, Antosha,” the adventure comedy “Playmobil: The Movie,” and biographical drama “Radioactive.”

On the small screen, her credits included the made-for-television film “Viking Quest,” fantasy-adventure series “Atlantis,” miniseries “The Miniaturist,” fantasy adventure series “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,” and historical crime drama series “Peaky Blinders” — a role that lasted until 2022.

The early 2020s saw Taylor-Joy appearing in many movies. In 2020, they were period rom-com “Emma,” drama “Here Are the Young Men,” and superhero movie “The New Mutants.” In 2021, she starred in the psychological horror “Last Night in Soho.” 2022’s credits included the epic period action movie “The Northman,” black comedy horror “The Menu,” and comedy mystery thriller “Amsterdam.” 2023 saw her voicing Princess Peach in “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” In 2024, she cameoed in the epic space opera “Dune: Part Two” and starred in the post-apocalyptic action flick “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.”

Television roles at this time included her most famous role as Beth Harmon in the coming-of-age period drama series “The Queen’s Gambit” and a hosting role on “Saturday Night Live.”


Anya Taylor-Joy Today

These days, Taylor-Joy is looking absolutely fabulous.

2025’s movie credits included the sci-fi flick “The Gorge” and action adventure comedy “Sacrifice.” In 2026, she has two movies upcoming. They are sequel offerings “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” and “Dune: Part Three.”

On the small screen, later this year, she will appear in the crime thriller miniseries “Lucky.”
