A 17-year-old boy was killed and two men were critically wounded Tuesday morning in a shooting in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.
The boy was outside and two men were in a vehicle in the 5000 block of South Throop Street around 7:40 a.m. when a dark SUV stopped nearby, someone got out of the SUV and opened fire, Chicago police said.
The teen was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
After being shot, the men, 61 and 55, drove to the 5000 block of South Ashland Avenue. From there, they were taken to Stroger Hospital, where both were in critical condition, officials said.
