57-year-old man killed in Roseland shooting

A shooting on the Far South Side early Monday has left a 57-year-old man dead.

The shooting happened at 4:15 a.m. in the 9900 block of South State Street, Chicago police said.

The victim, who is unidentified, was taken to Advocate Christ Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, but he was pronounced dead there, according to police.

No arrests have been made.

Area 2 detectives are investigating.
