CHARLOTTE, N.C. — “Good, Better, Best” is back.
Bears coach Ben Johnson led the Bears in the cheer after their 59-37 win Sunday at Bank of America Stadium.
“I said we need to find a way to get on the plane with a victory,” he told the Bears in the locker room. “I know it was not pretty for 60 minutes. We weathered the storm initially, we found our footing and we found our way at the end.”
He said that “it’s only gonna get harder from here” and “you guys know it.”
He gave out game balls to safety Dillon Thieneman, the offensive line and running back D’Andre Swift. Guard Jonah Jackson accepted the ball for his linemates.
“Shout out to the play-caller,” he said.
After Swift gave a brief speech, the Bears broke a huddle with Johnson’s trademark cheer. He paused dramatically — with one player shouting out “I need it!” — before Johnson shouted out “Good, Better, Best.”
