The Bulls have used the last few months to figure out how they wanted to best remember broadcaster Stacey King after he died at the age of 59 back on June 7, and on Thursday they announced those plans.
Throughout the 2026-27 campaign, the team’s uniform will feature a band on the upper-left side with the name “King” and a microphone icon on it, honoring the two-plus decades he spent as the franchise’s broadcaster.
There will also be a Stacey King Celebration Night on Feb. 4, several days after what would have been King’s 60th birthday (Jan. 29). More information regarding the details of that evening – which is against the Oklahoma City Thunder – will be made available later.
King was not only a member of the first three NBA championship teams from 1991-93, but turned into the voice of the organization post-playing career, serving as an Emmy Award-winning broadcaster.
As far as a replacement, the Sun-Times reported the rotation of Kendall Gill, Will Perdue, Scott Williams and Robbie Hummel throughout this upcoming season.
