A man was allegedly taken and later found bound and gagged outside a Harvey home on Friday after being robbed in Chicago, police in the far south suburb said.
Harvey police responded to a call in the 15500 block of Loomis Ave. at 4 p.m. and found a man on the porch of a residence, police said in a news release.
The unidentified man, estimated to be in his late 30s to early 40s, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment. The man was described by police as a dialysis patient. The extent of any injuries he might have sustained was unclear.
Officers said the man was in robbed in Chicago, then restrained and transported to the porch in Harvey.
“This was a deeply disturbing incident,” Harvey Police Chief Dale Mitchell said the news release. “Our officers responded immediately, secured the scene and ensured the victim received medical attention. Our investigation has determined that the underlying incident occurred in Chicago, and we will be coordinating with the Chicago Police Department as the investigation moves forward.”
The incident appeared to be isolated, and investigators are trying to determine a motive, police said.
No descriptions of possible suspects was provided.
