A dump truck driver died Friday after the vehicle overturned at a rock quarry in unincorporated Plainfield, authorities said.
The Plainfield Fire Protection District was dispatched to the quarry at 22950 W. 119th St. about 4:08 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of an industrial accident, according to a news release.
Responders found the driver trapped inside the large overturned truck, and the driver was pronounced dead, fire officials said.
The Will County sheriff’s office and the Mine Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
The fire district said Saturday it had not yet been informed whether investigators had determined what caused the truck to overturn.
