Even with QB Caleb Williams potentially returning, NFL moves Bears-Packers Week 5 game to noon kickoff

The Bears-Packers rivalry tends to be one of the NFL’s biggest draws, but the league and Fox opted to move the Week 5 matchup out of the late-afternoon national window. The teams now will kick off at 12 p.m. at Lambeau Field after their game was flexed out in favor of Seahawks-49ers.

The Packers announced the change Tuesday.

Not only is that typically a coveted matchup for television, but it could be Bears quarterback Caleb Williams’ return. Williams has been out since suffering a significant hamstring injury and is projected to be coming back around that game.

In the meantime, the Bears host the Jets on Sunday at 12 p.m. after upending the Eagles 27-7 on Monday night.

With Williams out all week and backup quarterback Tyson Bagent in the concussion protocol for most of it, the Bears started third-stringer Case Keenum. He completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns for a 110.8 passer rating and rushed for a touchdown. The Bears have not named a starter for Sunday.
