A hiker died after a fall amid the Mt. Wilson Trail’s steep terrain, police said.
Firefighters, police and a search and rescue team responded around 2 p.m. Saturday to a medical emergency on Mt. Wilson Trail, where they found a hiker who fell off the side of the trail, according to Sierra Madre police.
Search and rescue officials found the hiker, and first responders attempted lifesaving efforts. The hiker was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police didn’t immediately specify the hiker’s age, gender, name or other details about the fall.
The trail was temporarily closed while officials searched for the hiker.
