A man died after falling from a bridge in the Loop Sunday evening, according to Chicago police.
Police and paramedics responded to a call at 6:55 p.m. in the 100 block of East Jackson Boulevard and found Fernando Velazquez Contreras, 31, unresponsive, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Contreras, of the 1900 block of West 17th Street, was taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:25 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy is scheduled.
Area 3 detectives are investigating.
