PC Jess Turnbull, 19, joined Northumbria Police in September and was described as a ‘dedicated and committed officer’ by her chief constable.

She was called to a collision on the A189 near Cramblington, Northumberland, at around 11.10pm on Monday.

Police have urged people not to leave floral tributes at the scene of the crash for safety reasons.
