Three positions to watch Saturday when the Bears host the Browns at noon at Soldier Field:
Left tackle
With Braxton Jones out with a knee injury, the Bears will start Kiran Amegadjie and have him alternate quarters with Jedrick Wills.
Jones, when healthy, is the favorite to win the job. Saturday is a big opportunity for Wills, a former Browns first-round pick, and Amegadie to improve their status.
“There are too many things that are just not being done well enough,” offensive line coach Dan Roushar said.
Wide receiver
If the absence of Luther Burden and Zavion Thomas has made the receiver room slower, Ben Johnson hasn’t felt it. That’s a credit to UFL alum Kaden Davis, whom Johnson said “has made plays almost every single day,” and veteran Scotty Miller.
The two are competing for the Bears’ sixth wide receiver spot.
Defensive tackle
The Bears have tried to get rookie Jordan van den Berg, a sixth-round pick, to slow down in practice. His physicality, though, has earned him reps with the first team.
“I play with violence,” he said.
Saturday, for the first time, they’ll see how that translates to game action.

Bears coach Ben Johnson said not only will Williams sit out Saturday vs. the Browns, but he could hold him out of the other two preseason games as well.
