A Toluca Lake estate linked to Ken Corday, the longtime executive producer of “Days of Our Lives,” is on the market for nearly $17 million.
The 10,760-square-foot residence that traditional architect Kevin A. Clark designed as an English country manor sits on a three-quarter-acre-plus lot surrounded by tall privacy hedging. Inside, the home proves just as traditional as the exterior with its rich palette of color and texture. The layout features seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and a living room with a niche for a baby grand piano.
Public records and historical multiple listing service logs show Corday bought the property for $445,000 in September 1980 and later moved it into a trust with his wife at the time, Sherry. The current estate, built on the property in 2005, is now on the market for the first time as Toluca Lake’s priciest active listing, according to Redfin.
If it sells at asking price, it will be one of the priciest deals ever recorded in the area. The record belongs to the Bob and Dolores Hope Estate, which billionaire investor Ron Burkle restored and then sold for $26 million in March 2023.
The main house unfolds across three levels with staircase and elevator access to spaces defined by high beamed ceilings, wood-paneled walls and multiple stone-accented fireplaces. Arched entryways link the public spaces, including the formal dining and living rooms with arched French doors that frame views of the landscaped grounds.
Just off the living room, the wood-paneled library stands out with custom built-in bookcases, a green marble fireplace and a vaulted ceiling anchored by heavy beams.
A gourmet kitchen boasts a center island, brick fireplace and breakfast nook.
The home’s extensive amenity list includes a wine cellar with a tasting room, a screening room and a gym and wellness studio.
A fireplace warms the upstairs primary suite, which includes dual closets, a spa-inspired bathroom with a freestanding soaking tub and a balcony.
Outside, a pool and spa anchor the grounds. The backyard setup includes a covered brick loggia with a fireplace and dining area, an arbor-covered lounge and a detached guest house.
A four-car garage completes the estate.
Craig Strong of Compass holds the listing.
The estate is close to Toluca Lake Village, Lakeside Golf Club and major Burbank studios in a neighborhood favored by entertainment industry talent and executives like the 76-year-old Corday.
His parents, Ted and Betty, co-created the daytime drama “Days of Our Lives” in 1965. Corday joined the soap opera in 1977 after earning a master’s degree in music composition from UC Santa Cruz, eventually taking over as executive producer and chief executive officer of Corday Productions. He guided the soap opera through decades of broadcasting and its recent move to streaming.
During his career, Corday won nine Daytime Emmy Awards for his musical compositions and production, and he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017. He detailed his family’s enduring legacy in his 2010 memoir, “The Days of Our Lives: The True Story of One Family’s Dream and the Untold History of Days of Our Lives.”
He will perform a solo piano concert series at the Garry Marshall Theatre in spring 2027 to benefit the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Emergency Assistance Program, with performance dates yet to be announced.
