Dan emphasized that his wife is being truthful about her lack of basketball knowledge. The UConn coach revealed that it actually benefits the couple that Andrea is not asking for a detailed breakdown of every college basketball game.
“She doesn’t know and she’s not playing for the cameras,” Dan told “60 Minutes” regarding Andrea’s claim. “She has no idea.
“… And if I was coming home to somebody that wanted to talk about a new lineup, a new defense, rehash the game, my personality type and the way I’m wired, it would never work.”

Andrea’s basketball knowledge is once again at the forefront amid UConn’s recent Final Four trip. UConn has now made the Final Four in three of the last four years, but the achievement is a bit lost on Dan’s wife.
“I said to her on the plane, ‘This is wild. Three out of four years, you’re going to the Final Four. Do you ever imagine this with your life?’” Dan remarked prior to UConn’s win over Illinois in the Final Four, per Fox News’ Scott Thompson.
“And she’s like, ‘I didn’t even know Final Four existed until four years ago.’”

Like Dan, Andrea does not hold back her opinions. Andrea was not too pleased with St. John’s fans who rooted against UConn during March Madness.
“Okay, I’m gonna say it, St. John’s fans. … When we went to the game, all those St. John’s fans were rooting against us,” Andrea Hurley remarked on “The Field of 68: After Dark” podcast, per Fox News’ Ryan Gaydos.
“And that just broke my heart. … It’s really sad. … That’s crappy. … That was crappy.”

Dan may be a bit polarizing, but it is hard to argue with the results as he has emerged as one of the best coaches in college basketball. Andrea and Dan met as college students at Seton Hall.
The couple eventually got married on August 29, 1997, in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. On Valentine’s Day, Andrea posted a hilarious throwback photo of the couple.
“Valentine’s Day is for amateurs and that ain’t us ❤️👩🏻❤️👨🏻🩷,” Andrea noted in the February 14, Instagram post.
