The University of Connecticut is preparing for a potential win on Monday night, which would send the Huskies home from the NCAA March Madness tournament as champions.
And with that, they are bracing for the insane celebrations that would take place on the college’s campus in the event of a win.
According to TMZ, UConn has removed the lamp posts and is “beefing up” security ahead of the school’s matchup against Michigan.
University of Michigan Students Camped Out At The Bars Ahead Of Championship Game
Students at the University of Michigan aren’t taking any chances when it comes to the championship game. They want to make sure they have a prime seat to watch in Ann Arbour, so with that, nearly 100 students were lined up outside the popular bars including Good Time Charley’s and The Brown Jug.
Some came as soon as Sunday night, coming with tents, blankets, and mattresses, while others woke up bright and early to join the line at 6 AM.
“I’ve brought some water. A couch here and we’ve been here since 11 p.m.,” a Michigan junior told WXYZ. ”
“Can’t go to class on the Natty,” another junior added. “I tried to do some work earlier but it didn’t last long. An attempt was made, that’s all that matters.”
It’s no surprise that students at Michigan want to catch every minute of the game, as it’s could be the Wolverines first national title in 37 years. On the other hand, UConn last won in 2023 and 2024.

So many people want to be at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Monday night to see No. 2 UConn face off against No. 1 Michigan in the title game.
And it seems one person was willing to do whatever it takes to do so.
According to TMZ, one fan paid over $17,000 for a single seat. Specifically the ticket was sold on SeatGeeks for $17,022.96, with a Senior Content Analyst telling the outlet that the “demand is up by 20% compared to last year’s NCAA title game.”
It also seems that the majority of fans in attendance will be from Michigan, with TMZ further reporting that 27% of tickets sold are coming from the Michigan area, while only 2% are being purchased from Connecticut.
