Warning: spoilers ahead for Celebrity Traitors season 2 episode 2.
Two episodes into the second season of Celebrity Traitors – and the game has already reached a shocking level of savagery.
The first official roundtable ended on a cliffhanger, so we’ll have to wait until next week to find out who’s been banished. However, fans’ jaws are on the floor after witnessing Maya Jama mercilessly turning on her fellow Traitor Richard E Grant to save her own skin.
In the first episode, the Withnail and I actor made a terrible mistake, admitting to the room that he was a Traitor mere minutes after host Claudia Winkleman made her selection.
He had an excited gleam in his eyes, and some might have thought he was making a smart double bluff to throw people off, but he later admitted that it had in fact been a genuine blunder.
While several people in Ardross Castle are still convinced that Richard is Faithful, others haven’t been able to let his wild remark go, culminating with a tense interrogation at Friday night’s roundtable.

Maya, 32, even joined in on the comments about Richard, 69, expressing her doubt about him in front of the other competitors.
If Richard is the first star to be banished, this will surely help to protect Maya’s place in the castle. However, fans couldn’t believe how quickly she was willing to betray her ally.

It seemed unanimous among the Celebrity Traitors fandom that Richard has in fact dug his grave, a prediction that we won’t know for sure until the show returns next Thursday.
‘Richard’s plan back fired 😩,’ jane_noir1 tweeted despairingly, clearly wanting Richard to last longer on the show.
‘Oh my god are they about to get Richard out on the first round table????’ swarlaskidd questioned, while leiznomis added: ‘I know Richard is fighting for his life right now 😂😂😂.’

Following on from the first banishment, the Traitors – whether it’s all three of them or only two – will the choice to pick someone to murder in the dead of the night.
After Friday night’s challenge, there are two people who are at risk of being murdered: Jerry Hall and Professor Hannah Fry.
Some have speculated that Jerry will be murdered so that the murder can be pinned on Professor Hannah, making her a scapegoat the next roundtable.
One week down, the second week of the series couldn’t come sooner.
