Warning: spoilers ahead for Celebrity Traitors season 2 episode 2.
Maya Jama’s furry jacket has sparked a lot of chatter during Celebrity Traitors season 2 – and she’s given the best response.
Tonight, the second episode of the BBC series aired, revealing the outcome of the premiere’s jaw-dropping cliffhanger.
It was revealed that Traitors Maya and Richard E Grant had decided to recruit James Acaster to their ranks, meaning that University Challenge presenter Amol Rajan was the first famous contestant to be murdered, before he had a chance to fight his case at the infamous roundtable.
As episode two began, the participants started filtering into the breakfast room in Ardross Castle, where they enjoyed the show’s traditional spread as they waited to find out which cast member had been killed.
Maya, 32, was in the first group that came into the room, wearing a massive mustard yellow furry jacket to rival one of host Claudia Winkleman’s most eccentric Traitors looks.
The reactions from viewers were immediate, with some claiming light-heartedly that she resembled Big Bird on Sesame Street.
‘Ik maya is a traitor but taking it a bit far by skinning big bird and wearing him the next day,’ Crayolashots wrote on X.
‘Maya Jama is definitely a Traitor she killed Big Bird for that coat,’ lilacfoxes quipped, while slinehan1 added: ‘OBSESSED with Maya turning up to breakfast dressed as Big Bird. 😂👑💕.’
In true Maya style, the Love Island presenter reacted to the comments in the best way possible, taking them in her stride.
In response, Maya tweeted: ‘It was cold as hell in the castle ok 🦢 🤣🤣 #celebritytraitors,’ including an emoji of a bird.
I can’t lie – I’m feeling the furry look.
As the episode progressed, lots of eyes were on Ross Kemp, who seems to be making himself look even more suspicious because of how paranoid he is about being murdered by the Traitors.
Will the other celebrities turn on him at the roundtable, or could he help root out one of the Traitors? Time will tell.
Celebrity Traitors airs on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
