Tom Holland is opening up about how much his life has changed since getting sober, and the shift has impacted everything from his mindset to his relationships and career.

The “Spider-Man” star, 29, spoke about his journey ahead of his BERO Padel Classic in Los Angeles, an alcohol-free event tied to his non-alcoholic beer and lifestyle brand. Holland shared that his sobriety journey began in 2022 with Dry January. What started as a short-term challenge quickly became something more after he realized how difficult it was to stop drinking. That moment pushed him to reevaluate his relationship with alcohol and ultimately commit to a sober lifestyle.

Since then, Holland says he feels more confident, clear-headed and in control. He admitted that alcohol once added to the stress of being in the public eye, while removing it has helped him feel more present and grounded in his daily life.

His career has also continued to grow during that time, with major film roles, brand partnerships and new business ventures. While he said he cannot fully credit sobriety for his success, he acknowledged it has helped him stay focused and fully show up for new opportunities.

Zendaya’s support has also been part of that journey. While the couple tends to keep their relationship private, her appearance at his recent event highlighted the strong support system around him as he continues to evolve both personally and professionally.

Holland said his decision to stop drinking has also changed his social life. Gatherings that once centered around alcohol have shifted into more relaxed, alcohol-free hangouts, with friends becoming more present in the moment.

He also pointed to a broader trend among Gen Z, noting that more young people are choosing to drink less. While he is not encouraging sobriety for everyone, he hopes to show that a fulfilling social life does not have to revolve around alcohol.

Holland has previously opened up about other challenges, including living with ADHD and dyslexia, which can make acting feel intimidating at times. Still, he has learned to adapt by leaning into creativity and finding what works for him, per previous reporting.

By sharing both his struggles and growth, Holland continues to give fans a clearer look at his journey.

“Since getting rid of the booze and feeling more like myself … I just feel so much more confident in myself as who I am as a person,” he said.
