A teen was shot and badly wounded in South Shore Thursday afternoon, according to Chicago police.
The boy, 13, was found lying in a gangway in the 8200 block of South Coles Avenue at 2:50 p.m. and had been shot in the head, police said. He was taken to Comers Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
Multiple witnesses heard two shots and saw surveillance footage of two males running past his house around the time of the shooting, police said.
A shell casing was found in a gangway near where the boy was found, according to a police report obtained by the Sun-Times.
A car theft was happening around the same time and in the same area of the shooting, according to police reports.
No one is in custody.
