33-year-old man fatally shot during altercation in West Pullman

A 33-year-old man died Saturday after he was shot in the chest in West Pullman, Chicago police said.

Police said a verbal argument with an unknown group of people in the 11500 block of South Halsted Avenue at 4:34 p.m. turned physical when someone fired a gunshot, hitting the unidentified victim in the chest.

The victim was transported by private vehicle to Roseland Community Hospital in critical condition, where he later died, according to police.

No additional information was available about a possible suspect, police said

Area 2 detectives are investigating, police said.
