Bears report: Good and bad in non-quarterback injury updates ahead of Eagles game

What’s happening Wednesday at Halas Hall:

QB issues

Starting quarterback Caleb Williams (hamstring) won’t practice, and backup Tyson Bagent (concussion) isn’t even in the building. Third-stringer Case Keenum, 38, will run the first-team offense with practice-squad quarterback Miller Moss behind him.

Stevenson likely out

Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson suffered a hamstring injury against the Vikings, and coach Ben Johnson said he’s “week-to-week,” indicating an unlikelihood of having him against the Eagles on Monday.

Help on the way?

Bears left tackle Ozzy Trapilo was scheduled to go through his first full practice in pads, Johnson said; they aren’t required to specify participation until Thursday. It would be his second full practice as the team looks to get him back in the starting lineup.

Turner time

Bears 2025 second-round pick Shemar Turner barely played as a rookie and tore his ACL midseason, keeping him out all of training camp, but the team opened the practice window for him and linebacker Noah Sewell to progress toward coming off the physically-unable-to-perform list as early as Week 5 against the Packers.

Short conversation

Johnson’s least favorite subject came up before practice: Are there any indications that nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon’s health is improving? He said only, “I’ve got nothing to add there,” then looked for the next question.
