A man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a 74-year-old man in Auburn Gresham Friday, according to Chicago
Elijah Winsley, 20, faces a charge of murder, police said. He was arrested hours after the shooting took place about a mile away from the scene.
A motive was not given for the shooting attack that unfolded as the 74-year-old was inside a residence in the 8100 block of South Laflin Street — the same block where Winsley lives — about 1:30 p.m. Friday, Chicago police said.
The man, whose name was not being released pending notification of relatives, was hit twice and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Winsley is due in court Monday.
