A man whose age was not immediately available was in serious condition Sunday after he was shot in the stomach in the South Shore neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Police said the man had been involved in a verbal argument with an unknown assailant who fired shots along the 2900 block of East 77th Street at about 3:15 p.m.
The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was initially reported in serious condition, police said.
Area Two detectives are investigating.
