All Saints icon Melanie Blatt is set to make a musical comeback with her first solo single in more than a decade.

As part of the legendary British pop act – also including Shaznay Lewis, Natalie Appleton and Nicole Appleton – she shot to fame with best-selling albums and number one singles such as Never Ever, Pure Shores, Under the Bridge/Lady Marmalade, and Bootie Call.

Now, the songstress, 49, is reportedly gearing up to release her first solo single in 19 years as part of her massive musical comeback.

It comes after her former bandmate Shaznay released her single Good Mourning earlier this month, sparking Melanie’s desire to go it alone.

‘Mel isn’t a very confident singer and it has taken a lot for her to get back in the studio,’ a source told The Sun.

‘But she has seen her bandmate Shaznay Lewis do it this year and wants to push herself.

‘The plan is for her song with KDA to come out soon and everyone around her is hoping it will encourage her to continue with more music.’

After All Saints initially split in 2001, Melanie released her first solo single Do Me Wrong in 2003, which she followed up in 2005 with See Me.

She has collaborated on several songs, with the last being 2013 hit Fall’s Away with Fur Coat.

Aside from music, Melanie moved into TV appearing on the likes of Celebrity Gogglebox in 2019 and last year’s Celebrity Race Across The World with her mum.

She also starred as a judge and mentor on The X Factor New Zealand.

Shaznay released her first solo single, Never Felt Like This Before, in 2004 which rose to number eight in the UK singles chart.

She released her debut album Open two weeks later, and appeared on the Band Aid 20 re-recording of Do They Know It’s Christmas? in the same year.

Sisters Natalie and Nicole released music together under the moniker Appleton, with their first single Fantasy arriving in 2002.

Their debut album, Eventual, was released in 2003 featuring the single Everything’s Eventual.
