Danny Dyer is no stranger to a political rant – his 2018 Brexit rant, in which he branded David Cameron a ‘t**t ‘, was named TV moment of the year.
But in the name of equality, it isn’t just Cameron to have felt Dyer’s wrath, as the EastEnders actor has now voiced his views on recently appointed Andy Burnham.
Dyer, 49, was one of several stars at a protest today, demanding public ownership of the water industry.
Standing alongside his daughter and 2026 Strictly Come Dancing star Dani Dyer, plus Becky Hill, Dyer gave his full backing to the ‘stop the sewage’ campaign.
It took place in Leysdown-on-Sea, Kent, after more than 315,000 people signed a petition calling for the water industry to be ‘run in the interests of people and the environment’.
The London-born Marching Powder star was interviewed by the BBC during the demonstration, although – perhaps unsurprisingly – his quotes didn’t exactly make for family teatime viewing.

Still, political reporter Michael Keohan treated everyone to a clip that won’t be making the news broadcast, as Dyer dropped the C-word to describe past prime ministers.
When asked to talk through his ‘message for the prime minister,’ Dyer jumped in: ‘I don’t know who the prime minister is, mate. Do you?’
When reminded that it is, in fact, Labour leader Burnham, as of July 20, he quipped: ‘Yeah, but who is he? I don’t understand.’
‘Did anyone vote for him?’, he asked. ‘Because I didn’t vote for him.
‘So I think we’ve had successive prime ministers that are c***s. End of.’
‘Put that on the f***ing BBC,’ he concluded straight down the lens before walking off.
The video has been viewed over a million times on X, with Keohan writing alongside it: ‘I don’t think we’ll use this clip of Danny Dyer on the news tonight.’
Dyer was highly praised for his expletive remarks, with @mary_hail20316 stating, ‘Never a more true set of words have been spoken’, as @LateNight808 called him a ‘national treasure’ and a ‘legend’.
‘Hahaha, brilliant’, replied @Pollywollydo11, while @jpikey66 said, ‘Not often do I agree with Danny dyer but right behind him here’.
Not everyone was championing Dyer’s cause, though, as @musicredman branded his comments ‘classless’, while @SinckTim accused him of being ‘performative’.
Nevertheless, Dyer was widely praised for his straight talk, with jokes also made about how ‘Danny and Andy need to sit down over a cup of tea’.
Elsewhere, in far less vulgar terms, he spoke to the Beeb about running his caravan park on the Isle of Sheppey as part of a TV series.
He noted that ‘when you look out to the sea, you can smell the twang in the air’, calling the water quality ‘a disgrace’.
Speaking to the protesters, he added: ‘There’s no empathy anymore. No one wants to look after each other.
‘So look, I appreciate you all coming out, and you know, let’s try and make a difference.’
As a fan of open-water swimming, pop star Hill said she finds it ‘disgusting’ when there is human waste in the sea, calling for people to ‘stand up and make a difference’.
Ed Acteson, co-founder of SOS Whitstable and creator of the petition, said: ‘The public has had enough of being asked to accept polluted waterways, failing infrastructure and rising bills while shareholders and senior executives continue to be rewarded.
‘Water is an essential public service, not a vehicle for private profit.’
‘We want an industry run in the interests of people and the environment, with its income reinvested in the system rather than extracted from it,’ he added.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Rivals star Dyer has decided to talk politics, famously saying in front of Piers Morgan, then-Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, and Pamela Anderson eight years ago that ‘no one has got a f***ing clue what Brexit is’.
He proceeded to ask, ‘What’s happened to that t**t, Cameron, who brought it on?’, accusing him of ‘scuttling off’ to put his ‘trotters up’ in Europe.
‘Where is the geezer? I think he should be held accountable for it,’ he demanded, finishing off with one last muttering of ‘t**t’.
The Good Evening Britain tirade was soon added to the internet Hall of Fame, with Channel 5 recognising it as the ‘TV moment of the year’.
As for his more recent political comments, Dyer has openly criticised both the Conservatives and Labour, saying ‘nobody in politics is likeable’.
He called Sir Keir Starmer a ‘non-entity’ who only won due to the Tories’ dwindling popularity, and, while he voted to leave the EU, admitted afterwards this was a ‘massive mistake’ and only one he made out of frustration with politicians.
Basically, he wants more working-class people in the top jobs, saying last July: ‘They should be running our country, not people pretending they’re working class because they’ve had a pint in a pub.’
